If you are looking to stock up your villa’s wine cellar with some special grapes this year, then make sure you head to SLUIZ Ibiza on April 14th when Vino & Co’s annual Wine Festival returns to the quirky lifestyle store.

Now in its eighth year, the hugely popular Festival de Vinos aims to put the spotlight on smaller producers, family bodega’s and organic viticulture, with 34 of the wineries represented by Vino & Co, the renowned specialist wine store, showcasing their goods on the day between 12.00 and 20.00. The aim of this fun day is for you to come and enjoy good wine in good company within the unique setting of SLUIZ.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know new varieties of grapes and chat to the producers, sample their ranges and choose your favourite tipples for the 2018 season – whether you’re ordering for a restaurant or your own private collection, it’s a fascinating afternoon full of gourmet treats. This year, the organisers have really pushed the boat out to curate a unique selection of wines, bringing in sake specialists all the way from Japan to join the Spanish, French and German wineries attending.

Foodies will also enjoy the delicatessen on offer, with Dos Ostra serving up delicious fresh oysters, the Gastr-oh! crew bringing their beautiful ham to the table and, of course, the SLUIZ’s kitchen own mouth-watering creations. Admission costs 10 Euros, upon which you will be given a wine glass to peruse the stalls and sample their goods with.

The vast, weird and wonderful grounds of SLUIZ, located on the road that runs between Ibiza Town and Santa Gertrudis, is worth a visit any day. With its edgy décor (whether its an Olympics theme or the venue’s take on a garish hospital, you never know what expects you when you drive past the iconic blue plastic cows that grace the entrance), colourful fashion and funky interior design offering, the store is a veritable treasure trove. Add to that some April sunshine and delicious wines, and you’ve got yourself a gourmet day out you won’t forget in a while.
