As we are heading into October, a lot of focus is, naturally, on the closing party marathon that is taking hold of the island right now. But for those days when you need a break from living it up in the clubs or fancy exploring a different side of Ibiza, there are plenty of culinary, cultural and relaxing activities to be enjoyed on the White Isle off-season.
Make the most of the beautiful Indian Summer weather and enjoy Ibiza’s beautiful nature, find out more about the island’s spiritual community or simply nourish yourself with delicious food… Here, we round up some of the events you cannot miss this October.
Sunset Sushi At Cotton Beach Club
Sushi fiends, listen up! Thursday, September 28th, marks the first in a series of gourmet events at the stunning Cotton Beach Club in Cala Tarida that combines delicious Japanese treats with premium bubbles and unrivalled sunset views – if that is not a recipe for success, we don’t know what is! Every Thursday, book yourself in to enjoy a bottle of Ombra Di Pantera Prosecco Superiore and a sushi platter for two in the breath-taking setting of the stylish venue for 79 Euros.
Enjoy a movie underneath Ibiza’s starry night sky with Cinema Paradiso, the island’s pop-up movie theatre that appears in some of the most romantic settings on the White Isle. Friday, September 29th sees the final public screening in front of San Antonio Bay’s incredible sunset, showing The Fall on Typic Hotel’s cocktail terrace right in front of Es Puetó beach. However, the stylish outdoor cinema is also available for private hire, so why not create your own movie night in the comfort of your villa or in one of Ibiza’s many breath-taking locations?
Ibiza Spirit Festival at Agroturismo Atzaro
On Sunday, October 1st, join Ibiza’s spiritual community for a day of celebrating life and love. Under the slogan ‘be the change you wish to see’, the annual festival transforms the sprawling grounds of Atzaro into a colourful wonderland of market stalls, yoga and meditation sessions, group dance, alternative therapies, music, healthy food, workshops and talks. Children are welcome and will be kept entertained in a dedicated kids area with arts and crafts, story telling and children’s yoga.
Yoga & Breakfast At Aiyanna Ibiza
Start the day in the style with a gentle yoga session in the tranquil bay of Cala Nova. Held on the terrace of the stunning Aiyanna Ibiza beach club, the class overlooks the glittering sea and is the perfect way to embrace a new day on the White Isle. Afterwards, tuck into a healthy breakfast and nourish your body for the adventures that lie ahead. The next yoga and breakfast session takes place on Tuesday, October 3rd, and pre-booking is essential. The last class will be held on October 5th.
The Pink Floyd Project At Las Dalias
Fancy listening to a different kind of beat in Ibiza? Then make sure you don’t miss out on a magical evening at iconic White Isle hippy market Las Dalias, when tribute band The Pink Floyd Project performs their Elevator Club Session in the atmospheric surroundings of the famous grounds on Wednesday, October 4th.
Running from Wednesday, October 4th until Thursday, October 5th, the immersive ‘music and magic’ event will be taking over the quirky Pikes Ibiza to help people connect with themselves and one another, sharing wisdom, love and laughter. A fusion of music, art, fashion, spiritual talks and workshops, meditation, a night market and plenty of fantastic entertainment – last year saw two mermaids splash about in the iconic swimming pool – Cosmic Pineapple aims to raise awareness and raise funds for charity organisations.
Ibiza Light Festival
If you’re on the island on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th, make sure you don’t miss this magical display in Ibiza Town’s Dalt Vila, which will see the historic core of the city illuminated with various light installations. Ibiza Light Festival is a cultural project produced by Improbable Films, Ledhouse and 3D Light, using lighting, video, sound and scenic arts to transform the streets of Ibiza Town’s most charismatic part into a mesmerising wonderland. Walk through the century-old walls and cobbled side streets to find these pieces of art for an evening to remember.
Ibiza Food Factory At Sluiz
Head to the quirky and colourful interiors and fashion store Sluiz near Santa Gertrudis on Sunday, October 22nd, for a day of eating your way around its courtyard, which will be filled with stalls from over 20 of the island’s restaurants showcasing their delicious food. Live music and entertainment for the kids, as well as plenty of shopping opportunities, make this the perfect day out for all the family.
Explore the island’s stunning nature, rich culture and fascinating history on one of Walking Ibiza’s year-round guided tours. Offering three community walks per week, as well as private treks, the routes range from ‘short and sweet’ to more challenging expeditions along the coastline, through the forest and up Ibiza’s mountains. During each expedition, the local guides share their insider knowledge and quirky anecdotes, making this an educational as well as adventurous outing. Gourmets might also enjoy one of the Ibiza Food Tours led by Walking Ibiza founder Toby Clarke, which explore local markets, cafes, bakeries and many more Ibicencan deli destinations in and around Ibiza Town.
