Looking for a chilled but incredibly luxurious excursion for a lazy island day? Sister to impossibly glamorous Beautiful People, the Formentera Explorer is brand new for 2017 and promises a unique option for exploring the crystal clear ocean surrounding the White Isle, as well as the beautiful island of Formentera.
Hop aboard the stylish Formentera Explorer, a luxe sailing catamaran, and cruise to the island of Formentera in style. It’s not only the height of sophistication and an authentic experience with Spanish food, drink and culture, but also an opportunity to see the idyllic island of Formentera in all it’s glory. We chatted to a representative for The Formtentera Explorer about the luxury boat trip and what it has to offer.
Can you tell us a little about the Formentera Explorer?
The excursion takes places aboard the luxury sailing catamaran, and we sail to the coast of Formentera. Passengers will not disembark on the island, but there is the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the beautiful azur oceans that surround the bay. The picture perfect views of the island of Formentera make the excursion a really spectacular trip.
How long does the tour last and how many people are typically on each excursion?
The trip lasts five and a half hours in total. One leaves at 10am and the later one at 4pm. The afternoon trip is the most popular as it’s perfect for watching the sunset from the boat.
Although the boat has a capacity of 75, we want our guests to be able to spread out, lounge about and relax at leisure. That’s why we only sell 60 tickets for each trip – so that we ensure that we can properly take care of our guests!
What catering is provided on the Formentera Explorer?
The food and drink available on the Formentera Explorer is a point of great pride for us. There’s an all-inclusive bar stocked with the usual beer, wine and soft drinks and fresh juices, but also sangria, and mojitos with or without alcohol.
We’re also very proud of the cuisine that we offer on board – our Spanish chef lovingly prepares his speciality paella on board. He does this in full view of passengers once we dock in Formentera, so that they can learn a little about how a traditional Spanish paella is made.
In what ways is the Formentera Explorer different to its sister boat trip, Beautiful People, and in what ways is it similar?
When we set off on an trip on the Formentera Explorer, we can’t wait to share the beautiful nature that the island of Formentera has to offer with guests. Visitors can basque in the wonderful waters and the amazing sights; the trip is a little quieter, more sophisticated and laid-back. On the other hand, Beautiful People Ibiza is very much a party boat, focused on clubbers. Both are fun, decadent and a brilliant way to spend an afternoon on the island!
What would you say is the highlight of the excursion?
I think the best part is when we get to Formentera – it really is a Balearic paradise. Guests always enjoy working up an appetite swimming in the beautiful ocean, before eating delicious, freshly prepared paella and enjoying a cold drink whilst taking in the views.
