With Ibiza undeniably most famous for its 4/4 beats, live music events that offer something a little different are fairly rare on the ground. And that is just one of the reasons why the return of Ronnie Scott’s to the illustrious walls of Pikes Ibiza on June 29th is one of the most hotly anticipated musical events of the summer. The world-famous jazz club is once again set to host an evening showcasing one of its brightest new talents at the legendary boutique hotel, Ashley Henry, accompanied by a sumptuous dinner experience.
Opening its doors in London more than half a century ago and having hosted musical greats such as Chaka Khan, Prince, Van Morrison and George Benson, Ronnie Scott’s is a name that even fledgling jazz fans will recognise instantly. One of the café’s youngest residents, Henry draws influence from the likes of Sinead Harnett, Morgot Fonteyn and Freddie Mercury – making him the perfect match for Pikes – and was recently nominated for two Jazz FM awards.
Costing 80 Euros per head, the night will begin at 19.00 with cocktails by Pikes’ iconic ‘Club Tropicana’ pool before moving into the atmospheric Plaza Mayor square for dinner. On the set three-course menu for the night, treats such as white onion soup with truffle, farmer’s chicken ballotine with local fig, glazed pig cheeks, wild seabass and red wine poached pear await amongst other mouth-watering delicacies. At 22.00, the live jazz performance will begin, exclusively for seated diners, with the beats continuing on inside the iconic Freddie’s suite, spun by Ronnie Scott’s own DJ. Surely we don’t need to tell you that tickets are going to fly off the shelves, so get your reservations in now!
