As its name suggests, La Belle is a high-class restaurant with French cuisine. Its design and ambiance, however, are part and parcel of the infamous Ibicenco boho-chic style: white stone walls, embroidered cushions, plenty of natural light and a few Balinese beds put in for a good measure. Taking over this lovely venue in the pastoral town of San Rafael, Arnaud and Sabine Lauris wanted to create a place with stylish chill-out vibes and top-quality friendly service – and it would be an understatement to say that they simply succeeded at this.
One part of the restaurant is covered with a roof, the other one is exposed to the star-lit sky. If you arrive with a big company of friends, order the undisputable hit of summer menu – a basket of raw vegetables with a selection of sauces to share. Then proceed to La Belle trilogy of tuna tataki, foie gras in pieces and scallops carpaccio on a bed of guacamole; sink your teeth into Confit lamb shoulder smoked with thyme, indulge in Coconut milk bouillabaisse and polish it off with Le Paris-Ibiza dessert (meringue and diplomat cream, red fruits) or Souffle with Hierbas de Ibiza. The wine list comprises dozens of French and Spanish denominations, including both well-known classics and a few intricate names to discover.
The legendary French joie-de-vivre would be incomplete without a top-notch entertainment programme: at Le Belle they regularly host hippie markets, art exhibitions, fashion shows, cooking workshops and various activities for kids.
