KM5 restaurant and lounge is the place to go in search of the true spirit of Ibiza. Opened in 1994, it remains one of the main socialite hubs of the island, attracting celebrities, gourmets and fashionistas to its upscale dinners, shows and special events.
Even though it is technically located in San Jose district, it takes just a few minutes to drive from Ibiza town to this exclusive venue. Bearing a clear signature of orientalism in its design, KM5 has a spacious open-air area – the guests find themselves dining al fresco in a picturesque garden, under the star-lit Balearic skies, fully disconnected from fuss and scurry.
Years ago, KM5 made a name for itself by offering stupendous courses from the grill. At the moment, its menu still boasts a mouth-watering selection of meats, such as Black Angus T-bone or Angus Argentinian fillet steak. Seafood and poultry are also present – try Ibiza country chicken with roasted vegetables or Golden bream in parchment Thai style. Homemade pasta and Wheat tortilla with duck, cheese and avocado are not to be missed, as well as the delis of Nikkei cuisine and savoury sushi.
KM5 is the place to see and to be seen. Check their event schedule before booking a table: it’s very likely that you witness a fashion show, live music concert or art exhibition (works by Picasso, Dalí, Miró and Warhol have all been on display here). Dressing up can be done right on the spot, in a lovely boutique at the entrance.
