In less than two seasons, the stylish Bagatelle Beach Ibiza has established itself as one of the glittering jewels in the White Isle’s crown of glamorous seaside destinations. And last night saw the beach club and restaurant’s status as one of the island’s most illustrious addresses cemented as a mix of Europe’s most renowned business leaders, restaurateurs, designers and creatives, led by the Vice Consul of Monaco and Christine Nieto de Gea, attended a very exclusive summer celebration.
Located in the picturesque cove of Cala Es Moli and framed by majestic cliff tops, Bagatelle Beach offers not only spectacular views on the sparkling blue sea, but also a sense of privacy; a haven to escape from the hustle and bustle of high season. With a breezy dining space overlooking the beach, and a statement pool surrounded by plush daybeds at its heart, the venue effortlessly balances luxurious design while embracing Ibiza’s natural beauty. An offering of fine wines and expertly mixed cocktails, as well as the Mediterranean and French fusion menu created by head chef Jules Pronost, completes the five-star hospitality offering.
Under the theme ‘La Noche Blanca’, the fashionable guests – dressed for the occasion according to the glamorous all white dress code – began to trickle in while the descending sun bathed the venue in a golden glow. Greeted with a crisp glass of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque champagne, they gathered for a mingle by the poolside, while Bagatelle Beach’s resident DJ spun the perfect mix of chilled deep house tracks and electronica remixes of all-time iconic hits by the likes of Sade, George Michael and Fleetwood Mac.
Many surprises awaited the illustrious crowd, with the team of popular Ibiza Town dining and entertainment concept La Imprenta bringing their fabulous cabaret show to the event. Inspired by the ‘roaring 1920s’, a troupe of dancers in vintage sailor outfits opened the programme of infectious performances with a sassy swing dance routine by Bagatelle’s statement pool, the first of many highlights! Over the course of the night, the troupe returned with their glamorous and tongue-in-cheek interpretations of famous jazz songs, sometimes clad in dramatic cascading feather costumes, other times dressed as vintage vixens – but always bold and eye-catchig!
Of course, a selection of Bagatelle Beach’s culinary treats couldn’t be missing, and guests were treated to mouth-watering canapés such as grilled octopus served on a bed of potatoes topped with a curried mayonnaise, truffle pizza, and sea bass ceviche made with crunchy apple. The delicacies were washed down with fruity white and red wine sangria, refreshing Gin Mare cocktails and, of course, more bubbles!
With the event in full swing, it was time for the next big surprise, a powerful live performance by Portuguese pop star, actor and model Rui Andrade. The charming entertainer confidently took to the poolside stage and charmed the captivated audience with a clever mix of two big pop hits; Clean Blandit’s Rockabye Baby and Ace Of Base classic All That She Wants. Goosebumps broke out all over the venue when he performed the emotive Spanish ballad Quedate Conmigo in honour of event co-host Christine, before finishing his set with a rendition of Madonna classic Holiday that got us in the mood for a boogie underneath the stars.
With a final treat of heavenly desserts – freshly made on the night, of course – that included a zesty lemon tart, fresh fruit salad and red berry parfait, and the mesmerising and infectious sounds of world music electronica luring us onto the poolside dancefloor, the event drew to a close as another fine example of Bagatelle Beach Ibiza’s wonderful hospitality, and the impressive fusion of culinary treats and unique entertainment that has made the brand a worldwide success!
