Sunday mornings in Ibiza make for the perfect opportunity to kick back, relax and dip your toe into all that the authentic side of the island has to offer. The White Isle is renowned for its parties, superclubs, beautiful sandy beaches and fantastic restaurants, but for those in the know, Ibiza also offers a more chilled out vibe attracting couples, families and locals alike.
Earlier this year, a new and exciting concept unfolded on the island named La Huerta Ibiza, an organic food market that brings together a selection of the best local restaurants whilst embracing the concept of using organic and locally sourced produce. Situated in the stunning agroturismo hotel of Can Jaume, just outside the village of Puig den Valls and around 2km from Ibiza Town, the special foodie gathering takes place every Sunday. The idyllic surroundings, with orange groves, palm trees and luxurious rural gardens lend itself perfectly for the event and guarantee total weekend bliss.
Arrive early and enjoy a freshly ground organic coffee or unique flavoured tea, or choose from a delicious selection of juices and smoothies. Stroll around the many restaurant stalls whilst sampling a tempting selection of the very best locally produced culinary delights that Ibiza’s eateries have to offer. Each offers a different choice of delights, from Latin and Columbian cuisine and Acai from the Amazonian to fresh Italian homemade pasta, in fact, nearly every food imaginable is available to satisfy those hunger pangs or to take home for later.
As the day progresses, enjoy a late lunch from the delights of the BBQ whilst sipping on a cold organic beer or crisp glass of wine. Relax in one of the many chill out areas, where you will find huge comfy day beds with floating canopies and a selection of boho style sofas made from pallet wood and scattered with pretty cushions. Low tables decorated with fresh flowers and scented candles are perfect for eating, all of this invitingly shaded by the breezy palm trees and parasols.
Immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy the sounds of weekly live music and other performers. The younger guests will be more than delighted with the children’s play area, which features games and activities to keep them thoroughly entertained. La Huerta Ibiza opens every Sunday from 11:00 until 17:00 and as summer approaches, their opening hours will increase to incorporate more days and later evenings. We simply can’t wait to experience next the evening vibe at La Huerta Ibiza.
