Recognised for his role as architect of the elBarri Group and his current co-venture at HEART IBIZA, Albert Adrià will be presented with the accolade of ‘National Gastronomy Award for Best Chef in Spain 2017’ at the forthcoming gala in the Reina Sofía Museum on the 25th of June.
They say that success is no accident, but a result of hard work, perfection, loyalty and persistence – and the world-famous kitchen masteris a shining example of this. Rafael Ansón, President of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy (RAG), stated that the award is “one of the most stringent prizes” and that Albert Adrià has shown himself to be “an extraordinary chef”.
Albert has previously been nominated for his role in building the elBarri Group, which includes award-winning restaurants such as Enigma, Tickets, Bodega 1900, Pakta, Hoja Santa and Niño Old, four of which have a Michelin star and two of which are amongst the 100 best restaurants in the world. Four years after the closure of elBulli, a restaurant jointly run with his brother Ferran Adrià and believed by many to have been the best restaurant in the world, Albert and Ferran joined creative forces with longtime friend Guy Laliberté of Cirque du Soleil to launch HEART Ibiza in 2015.
The futuristic restaurant, bar and club has since become a hospitality and entertainment success combining gastronomy, entertainment and art – in no small part fuelled by the extraordinary cuisine creations conceived by Albert Adrià. Innovative in both technique and presentation, the surprises are endless and offer a journey for all senses when you immerse yourself in the HEART Ibiza dining experience. If Albert’s latest accolade is not an excuse to drop in and try his kitchen wizardry for yourself, we don’t know what is!
