One of our favourite foodie events on the White Isle is the Ibiza Food Factory, which takes place several times throughout the year in the quirky and vast grounds of SLUIZ Ibiza. Gourmets that visit the island in March should mark the 18th of the month in their calendars, when the first of the culinary events opens a new season of deli delights.
A colourful and wonderfully eccentric lifestyle store that sells everything from fashion to interiors, art, delicatessen and books, you will find the treasure trove that is SLUIZ on road that runs between Ibiza Town and Santa Gertrudis – instantly recognisable by a herd of blue and white plastic cows grazing in the fields in front of the building.
With a spacious, plant-covered courtyard that also contains a bar that serves refreshing drinks and snacks, you feel like you have wandered into an Alice In Wonderland style oasis. During the Ibiza Food Factory, this atmospheric space will be taken over by street market style delicatessen stalls with over 20 restaurants offering a taste to visiting gourmets.
Guests are invited to stroll through the garden and eat their way through the rows of stalls, which, in the past, have included everything from healthy acai bowls to hearty Indian curries. Soak up the sun with a cold beer in hand while catching up with the friendly faces you haven’t seen all winter – or, if you are visiting, get to know the movers and shakers of the Ibicencan gastronomy scene.
Of course, there is always the temptation of nipping inside and decking out your house – or wardrobe – in SLUIZ’s vibrant and original collection. A fabulous days of food, fashion, furniture and fun awaits! Wish to participate as an exhibitor/ restaurant? Send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
