Within the historical walls of Dalt Vila sits the vibrant, boho chic eatery El Olivo Mio. Brimming with authentic charm and romance, its emblematic décor coupled with the delicious aromas from its kitchen make it an irresistible dining spot. A heritage destination that boasts over three decades of success and is now under new management, this culinary hotspot is one not to be missed!

Whilst meandering the cobbled streets of the Ibiza Town’s UNESCO World Heritage site, you cannot miss this enchanting restaurant with its eye-catching red furnishings set off against the pure white walls of the stonewashed architecture. With an added dash of retro kitsch touches, its atmosphericl décor compliments the warm welcome from its friendly staff.

Established over 35 years ago, the foodie hotspot formerly known as simply El Olivo was taken over by respected French restaurateur Rita Sachs in 2016. Having previously running the equally well-known Sa Punta in nearby Talamanca, El Olivo gave Rita the opportunity to go solo and add her own flair – reflected in the addition of ‘mio to the famous name – putting more emphasis on the finest locally sourced ingredients and ensuring seasonality of the produce is reflected year-round. In fine White Isle style, an extensive cocktail and wine list can be enjoyed ensuring you begin your evening in a suitably celebratory manner. Soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere in this enchanting area of the Old Town while perusing the menu. A melting pot of Spanish, French, Italian and other Mediterranean influences, El Olivo Mio’s culinary selection makes choosing your favourite dishes almost impossible.

Our highlights included ‘Canelón Casero’, a homemade pasta stuffed with tender pulled beef cheek in a creamy béchamel sauce; ‘Lubina Chilena’ – sea bass cooked in a light miso with zesty basmati rice – and also ‘Pierna de Cordero’; a slow-cooked leg of lamb tenderised for over five hours and served with mashed potatoes and blanched vegetables. All tastes and dietary requirements are catered for with a sophisticated range of dishes available to suit all tastes. French cuisine is known for some of the world’s finest sweets, and this reputation is upheld by the dessert menu. Warm melt-in-the-mouth chocolate coulant, homemade blackberry pie, brioche French toast… need we say more? It is only right to indulge oneself when the food is this good!
