If you are coming to Ibiza to relax, reconnect with your loved ones and enjoy the White Isle’s beautiful countryside, we have just the accommodation tip for you: the chic boutique hotel Can Lluc, a tranquil oasis that effortlessly fuses rustic charm with modern luxury. Tucked away in the rolling fields and forest-covered hills between the picturesque villages of San Rafael, Santa Agnes and Santa Gertrudis at the foot of the mountain Atalaya de San Rafael, the lovingly converted former farmhouse is just 16km away from the airport and 10km from both Ibiza Town and San Antonio, making it the perfect base to explore Ibiza from.

Surrounded by the former farm’s plantations of olive, fig and carob trees and shrouded by many colourful flowers and lush plants, the 20 rooms and villas offer privacy and quiet for blissful relaxation. Welcoming its first guests in 2003, the authentic Mediterranean property is run by passionate and dedicated husband and wife duo Tina Soriano and Lucas Prats, who fulfilled their dream of transforming the former family farm, which belonged to Lucas’ grandfather and dates back to before the 19th century, with great care and attention to detail.

While many of the original features have been retained in a tribute to the hotel’s agricultural roots, with the help of architect José Torres the buildings have been designed and/or redecorated to channel rustic charm combined with modern elegance. Can Lluc offers all the modern amenities the discerning traveller could desire, including a spacious swimming pool surrounded by comfortable daybeds, an outdoor bar, several sun terraces, a gym space complete with sauna and whirlpool hot tub and a Michelin Star-level onsite restaurant. Guests can choose from the cosy double or superior rooms, which dazzle with authentic Spanish charm and boast features such as four-poster beds, fireplaces, Jacuzzi baths and plant-shrouded terraces to relax on, or the modern and sleek garden villas, which are bright, chic and wow with floor-to-ceiling windows on Can Lluc’s stunning surroundings. All accommodation options include modern essentials such as air conditioning, satellite TV, a Nespresso coffee machine and WiFi.

The hotel’s restaurant makes for a spectacular dining destination, which, overlooking Can Lluc’s flowering gardens and the fading sunset disappearing behind the treetops, offers a tranquil and magical gourmet experience featuring the finest in authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Feast on the freshest local produce such as a light tomato salad served on olive oil topped with a salty anchovy, Galician octopus seasoned with smoky paprika and served on a bed of mashed potato, juicy prawns and silky scallops, delicate corvina fish and aromatic Galician beef steak.

For those who prefer the simple pleasures in life and enjoy the quiet pace of country living, Can Lluc offers the perfect bolthole away from the hustle and bustle of the island’s busier resorts. The stunning nature is perfect to enjoy on hikes, with several picnic spots within the hotel’s grounds inviting you to pitch up and watch the sunset, granting views all the way to San Antonio from the property’s elevated position. For a slice of authentic Ibiza, you simply can’t beat the elegant luxury and rustic charm of Can Lluc.
