Cala Tarida wasn’t always one of the most popular beaches in Ibiza, but the arrival of Cotton Beach Club changed that and gave the charming destination another level of stylishness. This beautifully white venue, all decorated with – predictably – cotton, actually consists of not one, but two restaurants.
The Grand Terrace on the lower level offers Mediterranean cuisine and aperitivo style buffet (think of Betroot gazpacho, Blue lobster and clams paella and Dulce de leche coulant). FAY on the upper level specializes in Asian food and boasts a totally splendid seaview, hardly describable with mere words. Courses to look out for here are rolls, curries, peking duck, salmon tempura or coconut ebu fry – gastro-pilgrims won’t have to travel all around Asia to spoil their taste buds. Meals and drinks can also be ordered to beach beds: organic juices and smoothies are in particular demand during the sizzling hot summer months.
In addition to the regular hours, they host intimate parties and themed branches here, as well as all sorts of swank private events and weddings. In winter the venue is open on weekends, inviting locals and off-season tourists that become more numerous each year to sumptuous lunches. Cotton is expanding quickly: it already has a Lounge Club in Ibiza Town where healthy breakfasts and delicious coffee are served to the accompaniment of live jazz or classic piano. Moreover, at the moment of writing this, a hotel and stylish bar are in the pipeline – and are bound to be a big hit.
